In een land met veel verschillende culturen, kijken we vaker naar de verschillen dan de overeenkomsten. Met dit project wil ik kijken naar de Turkse en Nederlandse cultuur. Deze twee culturen wil ik verbinden door middel van theekopjes, doordat theedrinken belangrijk is in de Turkse cultuur. 
 
De theekopjes hebben Nederlandse en Turkse invloeden. De vorm is afkomstig van de Turkse theekopjes, de kleuren waarin de designs staan is afgeleid van het Delftsblauw uit Nederland. De designs op de kopjes zijn een combinatie van Nederlandse en Turkse afbeeldingen waar de twee landen om bekend staan. Ook staat er een vraag op de kopjes, die weer te maken heeft met de afbeeldingen. 

Het doel van het project is zorgen voor verbinding tussen de twee culturen tijdens het theedrinken, maar ook om te leren en bewustwording te creëren over de andere cultuur.

In a country with many different cultures, we look at the differences more often than the similarities. With this project I want to look at the Turkish and Dutch cultures. I want to connect these two cultures by using teacups, because drinking tea is important in the Turkish culture.  
 
The teacups have Dutch and Turkish influences. The shape comes from the Turkish teacups, the colors in which the designs are placed is derived from the Delft blue from the Netherlands. The designs on the cups are a combination of Dutch and Turkish images where the two countries are known for. There is also a question on the cups, which again has to do with the images. 
 
The goal of the project is to connect the two cultures while drinking tea, but also to learn and create awareness about the other culture.
