Het werk draait om het thema ‘ademhaling’,
Dit onderwerp heeft altijd dicht bij mij gestaan, omdat ik al als kind worstelde met astma. Wat ik interessant vond tijdens het onderzoek, zijn de verschillende redenen en ziektes die je ademhaling kunnen beïnvloeden. Ik besloot om Visuals te maken om het woord te verspreiden en een gesprek op gang te brengen.
De beelden tonen een kalmerende sfeer, die ruimte creëert om te concentreren en zich op ademhaling en conditie te focussen. Elk visueel component wordt een deel van de persoon en raakt onderwerpen als; roken, astma en COVID19. Het staat aan jou om de bedoeling achter de Visuals te vinden. De Visual wordt bestuurd door de persoon en verzonden via een projectie op de borst. Ik presenteer dit idee door twee verschillende soorten mensen met verschillende aandoeningen te filmen.
Breathe In is een project dat het belang van de imperfectie (in dit geval, de ademhaling) van het individu blootlegt waar emoties, tijd en plaats een rol spelen in het ritme van de Visual.

The piece revolves around the topic ‘breathing’.
This subject has always been close to me because I have struggled with asthma throughout my whole life. What I found interesting during the research are the different factors and illnesses that can affect your breathing. I decided to create visuals to spread awareness and create a conversation.
The visuals show a calming atmosphere that creates a space for the individual to concentrate on their breathing and better their condition. Each visual component becomes a part of the person as it touches subjects like smoking, asthma and COVID19. These subjects are meant to be searched for. The visual is controlled by the breather and presented through a projection on the individual’s chest. I presented this idea by filming two different types of people with different illnesses.
Breathe In is a project that discloses the importance of the imperfections (in this case, the breathing) of the individual where emotions, time and place play a role on the rhythm of the visual.
