Sneakers boven chicks & dicks

Seksisme is overal, vooral in veel verschillende community ’s die nu onder jongeren mensen spelen. Je bent er onbewust mee opgeroeid zoals “Dat kan niet want je bent een meisje’’ of ”waarom zou je je gevoelens delen dat is echt niet mannelijk verman je een beetje joh!”

Tijdens mijn onderzoek wekte de sneaker community mijn interesse. Zo ontdekte ik dat vrouwen zich minder gehoord voelen of minder serieus genomen worden en zijn er totaal tot vrij weinig vrouwelijke collabs. Dit is echt een mannelijke wereld. Zo heb ik tijdens dit project een jonge dame mogen interviewen die met veel passie vertelde over haar bijdrage in de sneakerscene. Doormiddel van verhalen wil ik deze stem laten horen en gelijkheid brengen in de scene. Mijn doel is om iedereen tot de community te betrekken dat het geen competitie is maar juist draait om passie en fun. Dat begint allemaal bij een sneakerstore.

Sneakers over chicks & dicks

Sexism is everywhere, especially in many different community 's that are now playing among young people. You're subconsciously brought up with it like "You can't do that because you're a girl'' or "why would you share your feelings that's really not manly to do man"

During my research, the sneaker community piqued my interest. For example, I discovered that women feel less heard or taken less seriously and there are total to rare female collabs. This is really a maledominated world. During this project I had the opportunity to interview a young lady who passionately talked about her input in the sneaker scene. Through stories, I want to make this voice heard and bring equality to the scene. My goal is to get everyone involved in the community to remember that it is not about competition but about passion and fun. That all starts at a sneaker store.
